French football outlet Foot Mercato have claimed that Arsenal are interested in Lille midfielder Boubakary Soumare.
The Gunners look poised to secure a deal to bring another Lille player, defender Gabriel, to the Emirates, and this report claims that boss Mikel Arteta is interested in making it a double raid.
Soumare is a 21-year-old France U21 international who has attracted the attention of AC Milan and Manchester United in recent weeks with his impressive performances.
Primarily used as a holding midfielder, the youngster made 20 Ligue 1 appearances in 2019/20 and has begun the new term in fine form for his club.
It is unknown whether Lille would be willing to part ways with, however, it is likely they would demand a high price for his services, something Arsenal may be looking to avoid unless they can sanction departures from elsewhere in the squad.

Reports surrounding the futures of both Mateo Guendouzi and Lucas Torreira with the Gunners have been doing the rounds of late, so there could certainly be space in the Arsenal squad for the arrival of Soumare.
Arteta has already made a few moves this summer and it looks like he has a clear plan about the type of players and characters he wants in his squad.
Replacing Guendouzi and/or Torreira with Soumare would be another step forwards in the Arteta revolution of The Gunners.
