Arsenal youngster Sam Greenwood looks set to complete a move to Leeds United for a six-figure fee in the next few days, according to a report from The Athletic.
The 18-year-old striker, who is highly regarded by staff at the Emirates. looks set to become Marcelo Bielsa’s seventh signing of the summer transfer window.
It seems likely that the prospect will go into the Under-23 setup at Elland Road, before potentially making his mark in the first team.
Greenwood joined the Gunners from his hometown club, Sunderland, in 201 and attracted the attention of European giants AC Milan and Juventus last year, although now it seems he will depart the Emirates for a Premier League rival.
The forward who can play either as a focal point of the attack of as a wide man of a front three has played for England at youth level, he was part of Steve Cooper’s Under-17 squad for the European Championships.
Last season, Greenwood made 22 appearances scoring six times. Although so far in his young career his Premier League 2 record boasts 19 goals and 12 assists in just 47 matches.
With such high praise and impressive numbers at youth level, Arsenal will hope they do not regret parting ways with the 18-year-old.
