Arsenal and Wolves are in advanced negotiations over the transfer of Ainsley Maitland-Niles, according to Sky Sports.
It is believed that the Gunners are looking for around £20m for the 22-year-old versatile midfielder.
As Mikel Arteta looks to raise funds to put together his own squad for 2020/21, Maitland-Niles, who is not considered part of Arteta’s plans, could be seen as a worthy departure owning to his age as well as still having three years left on his contract at the Emirates.
It may come as a shock to many that Arteta doesn’t wish to retain Maitland-Niles, especially when you consider he was a surprise selection in Arsenal’s FA Cup final victory over Chelsea.

Capable of performing in both central midfield and either side at full-back, the versatile England Under-21 international ticks plenty of boxes.
It is this versatility that has seemingly attracted the attention of Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo as the Portuguese manager looks to find cover for long term injury absentee Jonny Otto as well as adding midfield cover.
Despite appearing 20 times in the Gunners’ 2019/20 Premier League campaign, it seems Maitland-Niles time at the club has run its course.
Having joined Arsenal as a 16-year-old, the youngster will bring to an end a six-year affiliation with the club should this transfer be completed.
