Arsenal have given Lucas Torreira the ‘green light’ to leave the club amidst plenty of interest from Serie A, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, via Sport Witness.
The Gunners’ Uruguayan midfielder has attracted attention from Roma and Fiorentina in recent weeks, but now it is fellow Serie A side Torino who have emerged as a potential option for the wantaway player.
New Torino boss Marco Giampaolo was Torreira’s manager at Sampdoria when Arsenal paid £26m for the industrious and occasionally aggressive midfielder, and now it seems he wants to be reunited with his former player at his new club.
Torrerira himself is reportedly keen on the move, the reporting claiming the 24-year-old has expressed his desire ‘to return to Italy.’

Given the funds involved, it seems unlikely the Turin based club will be able to afford Torreira outright, perhaps a loan move is more likely this summer should Torino be the preferred destination.
Regardless of how it happens, it seems the Uruguay international’s future at the Emirates is limited now. as Mikel Arteta takes the squad in his own direction.
Since joining the Gunners in 2018, Torreira has made 63 appearances for the club, scoring three goals and picking up plenty of yellow cards.
