After securing their first summer signing in the form of Willian, it looks like Arsenal have now turned their attention into signing Brazilian defender Gabriel Magalhaes.
The Lille defender has been closely monitored by numerous clubs throughout the summer but Arsenal appear to be the favourites to land his signature, even though they face competition from Italian side Napoli.
Manchester United were also looking to capture the defender but now it seems unlikely that they will manage to sign Magalhaes after reports from France have claimed that a £27 million bid from Arsenal has been accepted.
Meanwhile, Napoli has also had a bid accepted, reportedly, leaving it up to the Brazilian to decide where he will be playing his football next season, with the two main choices being either North London and Naples. A decision is going to be made in the next few days.

Not that it means he’s definitely going to sign but Magalhaes has been seen to like social media posts from new Arsenal signing Willian, and his sister following the club on Instagram during the week, which may hint that he’s edging towards a move to the Emirates.
The promising defender would be a great addition to Mikel Arteta’s squad and would provide some more defensive stability, something which many Arsenal fans have been demanding for several seasons.
