Arsenal are interested in signing Brondby midfielder Anis Ben Slimane, according to Denmark outlet BT, as translated by Sport Witness.
The 19-year-old broke through into the Danish side’s first team this season, and has scored once and assisted once in four league appearances, attracting European interest in the process (Transfermarkt).
Fotboll Skanalen reported in January, as cited by Sport Witness, that a host of clubs had watched Brondby during a game against IFK Norrkoping, with scouts from Manchester United, AC Milan and Arsenal named in attendance.
While Slimane wasn’t named as one of the targets, the young midfielder could have been an option that the trio were considering at that time.
Now BT (via Sport Witness) claim that the Gunners are interested, with Brondby set to demand €5 million for the starlet, who is contracted until 2023.

With only a handful of senior appearances to his name, Slimane is an unknown quantity, but at such a low fee he could be worth a gamble.
The Gunners are currently well-stocked in midfield, although with the likes of Lucas Torreira and Ainsley Maitland-Niles having uncertain futures, while Dani Ceballos is set to return to Real Madrid following the end of the current campaign, there could be space for a burgeoning young starlet.
Arsenal were known as a side who played free-flowing football that was easy on the eye under Arsene Wenger, and Mikel Arteta is attempting to get the club back to that place. As such, signing young and impressionable talent could help the Spaniard’s cause, and he could mould Slimane into someone who suits his style of play.
For such a low fee, Slimane is a gamble worth exploring by virtue of the club being unable to really suffer if he does flop.
