Arsenal have been handed an advantage in their pursuit of Eintracht Frankfurt defender Evan N’Dicka, with Arena Napoli reporting that the player’s preference is to move to the Premier League.
Arsenal and Liverpool were both linked with a move for the 20-year old centre-back earlier this month, while Inter Milan and AC Milan were both also said to be keen on securing his signature.
However, Arena Napoli have exclusively revealed that the defender, who shares an agent with Arsenal winger Nicolas Pepe, prefers to either remain in Germany or move to the Premier League than to move to Italy’s Serie A.
This could be a huge boost for the Gunners, who are reportedly eyeing a centre-back this summer. The update could now give them a better chance of signing the France youth international.
The Frenchman could represent a cheaper alternative to Dayot Upamecano, who despite being many fans’ first choice defensive target this summer, is expected to cost around £50 million.
N’Dicka has managed an average of 1.3 tackles per game in the Bundesliga this season, which ranks equal to or better than all of Arsenal’s centre-backs except Calum Chambers, while N’Dicka’s 1.4 interceptions per game tops Chambers, Sokratis and David Luiz.
The Frenchman is keen on a move to the Premier League, and with Arsenal looking for a defender, he could definitely be a gamble worth exploring.
