Several Tottenham fans have attempted to dissuade Thomas Partey from joining Arsenal this summer and have been encouraging him to join their side instead.
Telegraph Sport claim that the Gunners are eyeing a £45million for the Atletico Madrid midfielder, with many supporters of the London club desperate to see him make the move from the Wanda Metropolitano to the Emirates.
Atletico, meanwhile, are desperate to keep the 26-year old Ghanaian in Spain, while it was reported last month that Partey was keen on committing his future to Diego Simeone’s side.
Arteta wants to make the midfielder his first big signing as Arsenal manager, with the Spaniard looking to sign as many as two midfielders ahead of next season.
Taking to social media though, a number of Tottenham fans have made an attempt to dissuade Partey from joining the Gunners, replying to a twitter post of his to tempt him into signing for them instead.
