West Ham fans don’t want Arsenal to move for Diop this summer

Several West Ham fans have demanded that their club command a huge fee for Issa Diop this summer, which suggests that Arsenal’s interest in the defender could be well placed.

Metro Sport claim that Arsenal are keen on signing 23-year old centre-back Diop from the Hammers this summer, as Mikel Arteta looks to shore up his backline.

While West Ham have suffered a disappointing season so far, being out of the relegation zone purely on goal difference, Diop has cut an impressive figure for the club.

Last summer the Frenchman had attracted the interest of Manchester United, although at the time West Ham had demanded a whopping £60 million if the Red Devils had wanted to land the defender.

With Diop having impressed again this season, the club are likely to demand a similar fee if Arsenal commit their interest, while that could rise further if United reignite their own interest.

Reacting on social media, a number of West Ham fans either demanded top dollar for Diop or demanded that the Hammers refuse to sell the player, indicating that Arsenal’s interest in the player isn’t being misplaced.
