Several Arsenal fans have reacted negatively to speculation linking the club with interest in Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren.
Italian outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi have claimed that Lazio face competition from the Gunners for the Croatian international, who looks likely to leave Anfield at the end of the season.
Mikel Arteta is said to be keen on signing another centre-back this summer, with Sokratis having teased a summer exit from the Emirates, while Shkodran Mustafi’s future could also be up in the air with the club having so many options at the back.
That has led the London side to focus on Lovren, with the World Cup semi-finalist and two-time Champions League finalist having fallen down the pecking order at Anfield.
Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip are all ahead of the 30-year old for the Reds, with Lovren having started just nine games in the Premier League this season.
Reacting to Arsenal’s speculated interest on social media, a number of the club’s supporters have bemoaned the quality of the Gunners’ target.
