Arsenal fans are pleased to see the club open talks to sell Mkhitaryan

Roma are in talks to sign Henrikh Mkhitaryan on a permanent basis from Arsenal, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Mirror Sport), and several Arsenal fans are pleased to hear that he won’t be returning to the Emirates.

Mkhitaryan is currently in the latter stages of a season-long loan with the Giallorossi in Serie A, having failed to impress following his transfer from Manchester United in January 2018.

Despite playing 25 times in the Premier League last season, 19 of which were from a starting position, the Armenia international only managed to score six goals and assist a further four, and his limited impact led the Gunners deeming him surplus to requirements last summer under Unai Emery.

While Mikel Arteta could yet decide to keep the 31-year old at the Emirates, it seems likely that he will be allowed to leave the club this summer, and a number of Arsenal fans are pleased with that, taking to social media to express as such.
