Arsenal have informed Besiktas that Mohamed Elneny could be available on a loan deal should they decide to move for the Egyptian in the summer.
The 27-year old has spent the season on loan in Turkey with Besiktas, having been deemed surplus to requirements by then-Arsenal boss Unai Emery in the summer, and he appears to have settled among the Black Eagles’ squad.
Now Fotomac report that Arsenal are prepared to loan Elneny again, with Besiktas interested in extending the midfielder’s stay in Turkey.
Manager Sergen Yalcin has been pleased with Elneny’s influence, according to Fotomac’s report, although Besiktas can’t afford to make a permanent offer to sign the Egypt international, so a loan would suit all parties.
Arteta seemingly doesn’t see Elneny as part of his plans for the future, so a loan move could allow him to continue playing football, while Arteta could have more money to play around with in the transfer market.
With Granit Xhaka, Lucas Torreira, Matteo Guendouzi, Joe Willock and Ainsley Maitland-Niles occupying the non-attacking midfield roles for the Gunners, and with Emile Smith Rowe set to return in the summer, Elneny would likely find game time difficult to come by
With Arteta also looking to sign two midfielders in the summer, it stands to reason that the players currently outside of the squad, like Elneny, could be sacrificed to raise resources.
Arsenal are right to loan Elneny for the upcoming season, and should he play well during that campaign, he can find himself a new permanent home the following summer.
