Arsenal are interested in signing Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey, with Libertad Digital reporting last week that the Gunners were keen to activate his release clause, and now some of the club’s supporters are desperate to see him move to London.
Partey, who reportedly has a release clause worth £42million, impressed for Atletico against Liverpool in the Champions League on Wednesday, leading many Arsenal supporters to wax lyrical about his potential.
The Ghana international played the full 120 minutes for Atletico, with Liverpool taking the game to extra-time with a 1-0 win in regulation time, before the Spanish side went on to win 3-2 in extra time (4-2 on aggregate).
The Athletic reported in late 2019 that Partey had been “desperate” to move to the Emirates in the summer, and should Arsenal maintain their interest, there is no telling whether he could feel the same way this summer.
Reacting to Partey’s performance against the Reds, a number of Arsenal fans have called on the club to step up their efforts to sign the 26-year old.
