Arsenal travel to Etihad Stadium to face Manchester City in a midweek Premier League fixture on Wednesday evening.
Whilst Manchester City await the Court of Arbitration for Sport’s verdict after they appealed their two-year ban, teams in mid-table have been boosted at the prospect of another Champions League spot being available.
None more so than Arsenal, who, after their exit in the Europa League, will be making a push for fifth place to potentially secure Champions League football next season.
This will be difficult, as six points separate Manchester United in fifth from Crystal Palace in eleventh.
However, Arsenal will know they have to concentrate on their own games and hope that some other results go in their favour.
Arsenal’s form currently is excellent. The Gunners are unbeaten in eight games in the league, including three consecutive wins coming into this fixture.
This is of stark contrast to City, who come into this fixture after being beaten 2-0 by their arch rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday.
But, Manchester City have won their previous six games against Arsenal and will be looking to take out the frustration of their derby day loss.
Here are the key battles that we think will decide the outcome of this game.
