Aguero a doubt for Man City ahead of Arsenal clash

Arsenal could be set to receive a boost ahead of their clash with Manchester City on Wednesday night, with Sergio Aguero a doubt for the match.

According to football.london, Aguero could be set to miss out after being spotted with ice strapped to his thigh on Sunday.

The report claims that Aguero was seen with the ice strapping whilst sat on the bench after he was substituted during Manchester City’s 2-0 defeat to rivals Manchester United at the weekend.

This could be a huge boost to Arsenal’s chances of getting something out of the game if Aguero is ruled out. The Argentine striker has the best minutes-to-goal ratio in the Premier League, of players to score 10 or more, with a record of a goal every 88 minutes.

If fit, Aguero has the quality to put Arsenal to the sword with his finishing skills. He is a lethal goalscorer and has proven that over the last decade with Manchester City in the Premier League. When fit and firing, he could cause Arsenal plenty of problems at the back, with his movement in behind and his ability to pick up the perfect positions in the box to finish crosses and through balls.

Without him, Arsenal could find it slightly easier to defend, given that Manchester City’s top goalscorer would be missing. However, they could also need to defend the likes of Raheem Sterling, Gabriel Jesus and Kevin De Bruyne. So, it will certainly not be easy for Arsenal if Aguero is out, but it could still improve their chances of getting a result all the same.
