Emile Smith Rowe is targeting a regular first team role with Arsenal next season, and a number of the club’s fans have backed him to succeed.
Currently on loan with Huddersfield for the remainder of the season, Smith Rowe only managed two Premier League appearances during the current campaign before linking up with the Terriers.
Described by Football.London as a possible heir to Mesut Ozil’s No.10 role, Smith Rowe has had an immediate impact with Huddersfield since moving to the John Smith’s Stadium in January, taking Danny Cowley’s side from 20th in the Championship to 17th.
Mikel Arteta is expected to make several changes to his first team in the summer, with the Spaniard targeting a central defender and two midfielders in his summer recruitment drive.
However, if he was to hand Smith Rowe a more prominent role, he wouldn’t need to focus on replacing Ozil, if the German does decide to call time on his Arsenal career.
