Arsenal fans want Arteta to sign Ceballos on a permanent basis

Several Arsenal fans have responded to Mikel Arteta’s comments concerning Dani Ceballos’ future at the club, claiming that the club should pursue a permanent deal in the summer.

The Spaniard joined the Gunners on a season-long loan from Real Madrid in the summer, with Ceballos having fallen further down the pecking order at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The 23-year old played regularly under Unai Emery before sustaining an injury in early November that kept him out of action until the New Year, although he would then go a further five games without contributing after his return to fitness, remaining on the bench in four and being left out of the squad entirely in the other.

However, the Spain international has featured heavily in Arsenal’s last two Premier League games, leading some fans to wonder whether Arteta could be keen on keeping the midfielder beyond the end of the season.

Arteta recently spoke about his compatriot’s future, claiming he hasn’t held talks over extending the midfielder stay at the Emirates, but a number Arsenal fans have now called on the club to press ahead and commit Ceballos to a permanent contract.
