Arsenal fans question why the club signed Cedric Soares in January

Several Arsenal fans have questioned the club’s decision to sign Cedric Soares from Southampton in January.

The Gunners confirmed the loan signing of the Portugal international full-back on the final day of the January transfer window, and now in March, he has still yet to make an appearance for the club.

With Hector Bellerin having suffered a series of serious injuries this season, that have subsequently impacted his performance levels, Cedric was brought in to add depth and provide competition to the Spaniard.

In a fitness update ahead of the club’s FA Cup clash with Portsmouth, Arsenal revealed that Cedric is aiming to be back in full first team training next week.

Taking to social media to react to the injury update, which also provided new information on the conditions of Calum Chambers, Sead Kolasinac and Kieran Tierney, a number of Arsenal fans questioned the rationale behind signing Cedric last month.
