Several Arsenal fans have heaped praise on defender Pablo Mari following his debut for the club against Portsmouth on Monday.
The Spanish centre-back joined the Gunners on loan from Flamengo in January, and he had yet to make his first appearance for the London club before facing Pompey in Monday evening’s FA Cup clash.
The 26-year old started alongside David Luiz in the centre of Arsenal’s defence, as Mikel Arteta’s men beat Pompey 2-0 at Fratton Park, which saw the away side progress into the quarter-finals of the competition.
Following the game, many Arsenal fans took the time to praise the performance of the January signing, who the Gunners have the option to sign permanently at the end of the season.
Taking to social media, a number of supporters praised the defenders impact in the cup clash, while fans were also looking forward to seeing how he performs in the Premier League against a more threatening opposition.
