Arsenal will be hoping to return to winning ways in the league when they face Burnley at Turf Moor on Sunday afternoon.
Mikel Arteta’s men have been playing good football in the recent past, without getting the result they deserve at times, although they did get a win over Bournemouth in the FA Cup on Monday. The aim now should be to convert that form into wins in the league.
In terms of team news, the Gunners welcome David Luiz and Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang back into their matchday squad after their respective suspensions.
Here’s how we think Mikel Arteta might line his XI up for the game at Turf Moor:
GK - Bernd Leno
Leno is Arsenal’s number one keeper and is set to be in goal on Sunday against the Clarets.
RB - Hector Bellerin
Bellerin has done well since returning to the team. He should continue to start at right-back.
CB - Sokratis
Sokratis’ experience should be required in a game where Arsenal need physical solidity at the back. We think that the Greek international is set to start on Sunday.
CB - David Luiz
After returning from suspension, Luiz looks set to slot straight back into the team.
LB - Bukayo Saka
Saka has been doing well at left-back even though this is not his natural position. The youngster looks set to start again at that position on Sunday.
CM - Granit Xhaka
Xhaka’s form has been immense for the Gunners under the new management. The Swiss international should be one of the first names on the teamsheet now.
CM - Lucas Torreira
Torreira is another player whose resurgent form under Arteta has been a source of great happiness around the Emirates. The Uruguayan is set to partner Xhaka in central midfield.
RW - Nicolas Pepe
Pepe has enhanced his game in the past few games, offering his team an added threat down the right-wing. The summer signing is in line to start there against Burnley.
CAM - Mesut Ozil
After getting a rest from the FA Cup game, Ozil is set to be back in his attacking midfield role on Sunday. The former German international has been doing well under Arteta.
LW - Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang
The captain has served his suspension and is now back in contention to start games. We predict for him to slot straight back into the XI on Sunday.
ST - Alexandre Lacazette
Even though he is currently undergoing a bit of a goal drought, Lacazette is an important player up front for Arsenal and we think Arteta will select him on Sunday.
