Arsenal look set to make a ‘concrete’ move for Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng.
That’s according to German Sky Sport reporter Marc Behrenbeck, cited by @ZRAFC, who claims that the Gunners have made initial contact with the Bundesliga giants and look set to firm up their interest in the 31-year-old.

Bayern want a fee in the region of £13m for the German, and it appears as if Arsenal could meet that figure as Mikel Arteta looks to bolster his defensive ranks, while Spurs and Juventus are also keen.
The news regarding Arsenal’s proposed concrete move quickly made its way across social media, and these supporters weren’t impressed.

Boateng, a World Cup winner, used to be one of the first names on the teamsheet for the German giants, but he’s struggled to cement his place in the side this season.
The experienced defender has made just nine Bundesliga appearances in recent months, and you’d expect that he’d be keen on ending his nine-year association with the club in search of regular game time.
He’d definitely bring a winning mentality and plenty of elite-level experience to the Emirates, but whether or not he’s what the Gunners need right now is another question.
It will be an interesting few weeks for Arteta and Arsenal, and if they can get their January business spot on, they could make a late surge for a Champions League spot.
