Despite being recognised as one of the top central defenders in European football, plenty of Arsenal fans have expressed their concerns about a potential move to sign Kalidou Koulibaly.
The Napoli defender has been heavily linked with moves to the Emirates in recent weeks, with Arteta poised to strengthen defensively this month.

You can understand why fans might be cautious about a move to sign Koulibaly.
Given Arsenal’s recent history of signing older and expensive players, looking towards a younger alternative is an easier and safer way for the club to protect their investment.
However, you might have to draw some exceptions when a player like Koulibaly is being discussed.
At Napoli, he has proven himself to be one of the best defenders in the game and given how much improvement Arsenal need at the back, they surely cannot turn down the chance to try and sign him should he become available.
