Arsenal could reportedly pay Juventus as much as €50 million to complete a January deal for Merih Demiral.
According to Foto Mac, as cited on Sport Witness, the Gunners may now step up their interest in the Turkish defender over the coming weeks.
Mikel Arteta could be forced into making a number of January signings following the long-term injury suffered by Calum Chambers.
Demiral has largely been out of favour at Juventus this season as a result of the signing of Matthijs de Ligt, but the Old Lady remain keen to keep him at the club.

Arsenal and Arteta need to bring bodies through the door during the January window, especially after the bad news surrounding Chambers’ injury.
If the Gunners are to be unfortunate enough to suffer any more injury problems at the back, Arteta’s squad will really be tested to the limits.
A move to Arsenal should appeal to Demiral after a lack of consistent game time for Juventus this season.
With gaps emerging throughout the backline at the Emirates, there should be an opening for him to nail down a regular starting spot if he makes the move.
At just 21 years of age, he is also an option that the club can consider for the long run, beyond both David Luiz and Sokratis.
