Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s desire to play Champions League football is the driving force behind his decision to leave Arsenal in the summer.
According to the Daily Telegraph, as cited on Bleacher Report, Aubameyang wants to move on to get back into Europe’s elite competition.
The news comes just weeks after the club handed the player the captain’s armband following Granit Xhaka’s spat with supporters.
Aubameyang, who scored his 13th Premier League goal of the campaign against Chelsea, has been crucial for the Gunners this season, despite their struggles.

While it’ll be a tough decision to see him leave the club, few could begrudge the striker for wanting to move on.
At 30 years of age, Aubameyang will surely feel like he still has one big move left in him before he reaches the latter stages of his career.
His record for Arsenal since joining from Borussia Dortmund has proven he is still right up there with the best forwards in Europe and he’s somebody who deserves to be playing in the Champions League.
Scoring 45 goals in just 69 league games is an impressive return from Aubameyang, given the inconsistencies that Arsenal have shown during his time in London.
The report claims that Aubameyang has promised to give all he can before the end of the season and it would be a real shame to see yet another star player leave the club on a sour note.
If he can put the hard yards in and show supporters why he deserves to be playing among Europe’s elite, it will go a long way in their minds when the time does come to eventually move on.
