Arsenal are one of a number of clubs showing an interest in Real Madrid midfielder James Rodriguez ahead of the January window.
According to El Desmarque, via Sport Witness, Arsenal, Inter Milan, Everton and Napoli are among the clubs keen on Rodriguez.
The report claims that he is available for a fee in the region of €50m, with Everton said to be preparing an offer for the Colombian international.

Rodriguez would be a strange signing by Arsenal. He is a very similar player to Mesut Ozil, in that he is a relatively slow number 10 who likes to get on the ball and play intricate passes. They already have Ozil, so why waste €50m on getting Rodriguez in when they can spend it on their defence or on a holding midfielder.
Arsenal have shown this season that they still carry a threat at the top end of the pitch, but they lack the stability in defence and in midfield to give them a base to work from. Instead of eyeing mega deals for big names, they should be looking to tighten up their defence and stop conceding goals at an alarming rate, or they will have little chance of making the top four.
