Hertha Berlin have stepped up their interest in Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka, according to reports.
According to L’Equipe, as cited by Get French Football News, the Bundesliga side have submitted a loan offer to sign the Swiss midfielder.
Eager to complete a future deal for Xhaka, Hertha’s offer includes a €30 million option to buy at the end of the loan.
Despite Mikel Arteta urging him to stay, Xhaka has been heavily linked with a January move away from the Emirates.

Arteta has been very vocal about his desire to see Xhaka remain at the club and it looks like convincing him to stay will be one of his biggest tasks early on at Arsenal.
Xhaka’s agent has revealed the player’s desire to move on, but perhaps the midfielder could now be tempted to remain at the Emirates.
Working under a manager who is clearly keen for him to stay put, Xhaka might look at the performance against Chelsea and take hope from what could be to come in North London.
Regardless, Arsenal must resolve Xhaka’s future quickly. If he is to move on in the near future, the Gunners will need to bring in a replacement during the January window.
