Mikel Arteta has personally phoned Adrien Rabiot to discuss a potential January move to Arsenal.
According to reports in France from Foot Mercato, the Juventus midfielder has spoken with Arteta, who had the chance to discuss his vision for the rest of the season at the Emirates.
After falling out of favour at Juventus, Rabiot is being linked with a January move away – with Arsenal battling Premier League rivals Everton in the race to sign the player on loan.
The Frenchman only joined from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer but he has struggled to make an impact under Maurizio Sarri.

Arsenal need to strengthen in midfield and with Rabiot seemingly available in the new year, it’s a move that makes sense for both parties.
The move to Turin has not worked out for Rabiot as of yet and he’s a player that was once heavily linked with a move to England.
The fact that Arteta has personally spoken to the player himself ahead of the January window would suggest that Arsenal’s interest is strong.
After holding talks with the new Arsenal boss, this will be an early indicator to see how much pulling power Arteta has and whether or not he’ll be able to instil his philosophy and ideas to potential future targets.
