Mikel Arteta has dropped a major hint that Arsenal will look to make moves during the January transfer market.
Arsenal were rocked by yet another injury against Chelsea during Sunday’s 2-1 defeat, with Calum Chambers forced off with what looks like a long-term problem.
As reported by talkSPORT, Arteta revealed that he will be holding talks with the club regarding their January plans ‘in the next few days’.
We will discuss in the next few days, internally, where we can improve the squad. Because at the moment we have a lot of injuries like I said. Some of them might be long term as well, so we have to adapt the plan.

It’s looking increasingly likely that Arteta will need to be backed in January if Arsenal want to pull themselves out of their current rut.
With Granit Xhaka being heavily linked with moves away and injuries piling up throughout the squad, Arteta is already trying to make up the numbers just a matter of weeks into the job.
Defensively, Arteta’s options are already limited and Chambers’ injury does little to help that.
The new Arsenal boss could also look to strengthen in midfield if Xhaka does go on to leave. Lucas Torreira’s form in recent weeks has been promising but the Uruguayan will need support in the middle of the park with the Arsenal squad already being pushed to the limit.
