Arsenal fought hard but were hit with a late sucker punch when they let a lead slip to lose 2-1 to Chelsea at the Emirates.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang had put the Gunners ahead in the first half, but goals from Jorginho and Tammy Abraham late on jolted the home side, despite a good performance.
After a quick and compact start to the game, Mikel Arteta’s men took the lead in the 13th minute, when the near post corner routine worked perfectly for them and Aubameyang was there to nod his header in.
Arsenal had other chances to double the lead, but Alexandre Lacazette was guilty of taking an extra touch in the box, while Mesut Ozil passed the ball on the counter instead of taking the defence on by himself.
Then, in the 83rd minute, Chelsea equalised when Bernd Leno came out to collect a set-piece and completely missed it to allow Jorginho a tap-in in the empty net.
Four minutes later, the away side hit Arsenal on the counter and Willian set up Abraham for the winning goal of the game.
All in all, it was a decent performance from the Gunners, but couldn’t keep their discipline going till the final whistle.
