New Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has told wantaway midfielder Granit Xhaka that his future remains with Arsenal, despite the player being heavily linked with a move away from the club.

Xhaka has been touted with a move to Bundesliga side Hertha Berlin, but Arteta wants to keep him at the club.
Arteta has also revealed that Manchester City tried to sign the player before he eventually made the switch to Arsenal.
Speaking ahead of his first game in charge, Arteta said, via the Guardian:
I told him how much I like him and what I expect from him.
How important he is for the team. I am here to help him, I want him to feel that we are right behind him. Not just myself but the whole club. If we can get the people in the right way as well, the fans with him, I think it will be helpful for the team, which is where it matters.

Xhaka has been successfully reintroduced into the side after his absence form the first team.
However, it looks like Arteta will have a job on his hands to keep him at the club.
He may have come back to the side, but he must not be truely happy at Arsenal after his fallout with the fans.
Arteta though might be the spark to keep him at the Emirates Stadium.
