Juventus aren’t keen to let Adrien Rabiot join Arsenal in January, but they would be prepared to offer Emre Can on loan.
The Gunners are looking for midfield reinforcements as Mikel Arteta looks to put his own stamp on his new squad, with the London club having failed to meet expectations so far this season.
Granit Xhaka looks to be on the way out of the Emirates and with the future of Lucas Torreira also up in the air, a midfielder is a needed signing for the club.
According to The Times (via Star Sport), Rabiot is the man who Arteta is eyeing to be his first signing, although Juventus are playing hardball over a prospective loan deal.

Instead, the Serie A champions would prefer that the Gunners take former Liverpool midfielder Can on loan.
Despite having featured regularly after initially joining the Turin side from Liverpool in 2018, Can has been pushed out of contention by manager Maurizio Sarri this season.
With Rabiot having recently joined, it would stand to reason that Juventus have had more time to decide that Can is surplus to requirements than for them to let Rabiot leave for the Premier League.

While Can might not be as glamorous a name as Rabiot, the German midfielder could still be a very astute signing for the Gunners.
Liverpool weren’t keen to see Can leave in 2018, and with the midfielder still fairly young at just 25, he could be a valuable addition to Arteta’s squad.
Should Can consider coming back to the Premier League, he is certainly a player that I think the London club should explore the possibility of signing.
