Arsenal player ratings: Bournemouth (A)

Arsenal came back from a goal down to secure a point away at Bournemouth in Mikel Arteta’s first game in charge of the team.

Dan Gosling had given the Cherries a lead in the first half, but Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang scored for the Gunners after the break to share the spoils.

Arsenal started the game well but conceded when they gave the ball away cheaply and Gosling was in the box to finish a cutback from Josh King.

Arteta’s men began the second half sharper and got an equaliser when Granit Xhaka’s through ball for Alexandre Lacazette cut the Bournemouth defence apart, but it was Aubameyang who tucked his effort in after scrappy play in the box.

The Gunners had more of the chances to get the winning goal, but the final ball quality was missing at times.

All in all, a decent start for Arteta, but he would want more conviction from his team in the future.
