Arsenal have reportedly made contact with Napoli over a potential move for defender Kalidou Kouilibaly in the January window.
Ian McGarry speaking on Reach PLC’s Transfer Window Podcast revealed that he believes that Koulibaly is a target for the Gunners in January, and moves have been made to potentially bring him to the club.

He said:
I’ve heard, although can’t confirm, that Arsenal have also made contact with Napoli through a third-party regarding Koulibaly.
This comes on the back of their desire under Mikel Arteta to strengthen their defence.
And also that they’ve got some interest from Sead Kolasinac. So you could see the possibility of Kolasinac being offered to Napoli in part-exchange plus cash, although Di Laurentiis prefers cash for Koulibaly because he wants to strengthen his team up the Serie A table.
New boss Mikel Arteta is set to take charge of his first game as Arsenal boss today, with the Gunners taking on Bournemouth later, and the Spaniard has also been looking into new recruits in January.
Koulibaly would be a huge upgrade to the Arsenal defence, with a deal reportedly costing them over £55 million.

The Gunners need a huge improvement at the back, and Koulibaly would surely be a great signing.
However, with other teams looking at him, Arsenal would have to move fast to bring him into the fold.
