Toby Alderweireld signed a new Tottenham deal on Friday, which left several Arsenal fans mocking the Belgian’s decision to do so after their defeat to Chelsea.
The 30-year-old, who had been heavily tipped leave the club, committed his future at Spurs until 2023 shortly before the weekend’s action.

Alderweireld turned out two days later against Chelsea, with Jose Mourinho suffering a 2-0 defeat to his former side.
And 24 hours on from the defeat, Arsenal fans were quick to mock the defender for penning a new deal, with Gunners parody account @Aubazettes sharing this comical tweet regarding the defender.
Twitter: BREAKING: Spurs defender Toby Alderweireld agrees not to win any trophies until at least 2023 lmao https://t.co/T5fA2W3AJI (@Aubazettes)
It went down a treat with the Arsenal faithful, who were quick to join in with the joke.

Arsenal haven’t had much to cheer about this season, and they’ve taken every opportunity to get on the backs of their rivals.
Both Mourinho and new Gunners boss Mikel Arteta are now facing a battle to earn their first trophy in charge of the north London heavyweights, with the FA Cup Spurs’ best chance and the Europa League Arsenal’s.
Spurs are approaching 12 years without winning a piece of silverware, while Arsenal’s last trophy came two-and-a-half-years ago.
