Defender William Saliba has been linked with a shock January move back to Arsenal.
Currently on loan at Saint-Etienne, Saliba is due to return to the Emirates in the summer.
As part of the deal that saw Saliba join Saint-Etienne, Arsenal agreed to send him back to the Ligue 1 side to continue his development.
Gilles Favard claims that ‘if it’s possible’, they will try to recall him in the new year.
Despite Saliba impressing, these Arsenal fans on social media aren’t convinced by the claims.

This is a tricky one for Arsenal because as much as they’d like Saliba back in the squad, it will be a tough deal to complete.
Arsenal saw off plenty of European competition for Saliba because of their willingness to send him back to Saint-Etienne on loan.
Their intention to recall him early is hardly going to go down well unless a substantial compensation fee is paid.
Saliba is highly rated in France and has been impressing this season, so you can understand why they’d be eager to bring him back early. However, it could be more beneficial for him to remain in Ligue 1 until the summer so he can come back and compete for a first-team spot next season.
