Mikel Arteta has reportedly identified Dries Mertens as one of his main targets for the January transfer window, and a number of fans appear unconvinced.
The 32-year-old is said to be available for a fee in the region of £8.5million next month; a figure that has attracted attention from Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund.
Arsenal are also aware of his potential availability, but these supporters are not convinced that he is the right man to be targeting.

Mertens is undoubtedly a hugely talented player, but fans are right to question Arsenal’s reported interest in him.
At 32-years-old, he is likely to prove a very short-term signing for the Gunners as he enters the latter stages of his career.
Furthermore Arteta already has a host of exciting, attacking players at his disposal and may be therefore better suited to prioritising other areas of the squad.
