Arsenal are reportedly interested in a move for Dries Mertens in January but could face competition from the Bundesliga.
According to the Mirror via Calciomercato, Mikel Arteta has identified Mertens as one of his main targets for the January transfer window but both Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich are also interested.
The 32-year-old is reportedly valued at a fee in the region of £8.5million given how he is set to be out of contract at Napoli next summer.

Arteta appears to be wasting no time in identifying the players who he believes can change Arsenal’s fortunes this season, and at £8.5m, Mertens could prove a useful acquisition.
But while the 32-year-old is certainly an excellent player, many will question whether can really be the man to have a positive impact in the future given his age.
Mertens has an excellent record with Napoli, scoring 188 times and creating 71 assists in 303 appearances for the Serie A side.
