Mikel Arteta looks set to become the new Arsenal manager, and it appears as if he’s already outfoxed Pep Guardiola.
According to the Daily Mail, cited by This Is Futbol, the 37-year-old has identified Domenec Torrent and Rodolfo Borrell to assist him in north London and the pair could now be heading for the Emirates.
The report also claims that Torrent was being lined up by the defending Premier League champions to replace Arteta as Guardiola’s right-hand man, but he could snub a reunion with his former colleague.

Both Arteta and Guardiola know all about the 57-year-old.
He worked alongside Guardiola at Barcelona and Bayern Munich and followed him to Manchester before leaving in June 2018 to take over as the Head Coach of New York City FC.
Unfortunately, things didn’t work out in the MLS for Torrent, who parted ways with the club last month.

Arsenal need to rediscover their identity and the imminent arrival of Arteta should help the club do so.
Torrent would also help the former Gunners midfielder settle into his first senior managerial role, so everyone associated with the club will be hoping that the latest reports are true.
