Aubameyang’s brother slams imminent Arteta appointment

While Arsenal fans seem to be fairly pleased with the imminent appointment of Mikel Arteta, it has not gone down so well with some of the player’s family members.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s brother, Willy Aubameyang, has slammed the decision on social media, labelling the Spaniard as inexperienced while also comparing him to current interim boss Freddie Ljungberg.

Arteta is now widely expected to be named as the new Arsenal manager sooner rather than later, but as reported by football.london, Willy commented on a post from AFTV expressing his discontent.

This does nothing to help the current situation that Arsenal find themselves in and while it’s not coming from Aubameyang himself, his close family should know better.

It raises more questions about his suitability for the role of club captain and you have to wonder if it’s a decision that Arteta needs to make swiftly following his appointment.

Aubameyang’s relationship with AFTV has been questioned in the past and interactions like this, knowing full-well how it will be portrayed by supporters does not help anybody.
