Napoli have reportedly made an initial bid for Arsenal star Lucas Torreira, according to Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport, cited by the Daily Mail.
The Serie A side have offered the Gunners a £2.5m fee to take the midfielder on loan for 18 months, with an obligation to then sign Torreira for £22m in the summer of 2021.

The Uruguayan became unsettled under the guidance of Unai Emery and failed to nail down a regular role under the former manager.
However, with Emery now gone, Torreira has featured in four of the five games under interim boss Freddie Ljungberg.

Torreira’s future remains up in the air, even after Emery’s exit, however, the reported offer will not go down well with supporters.
It shouldn’t sit well with the board either. The 23-year-old cost the Gunners around £26m back in 2018, so if the club did accept Napoli’s opening offer, they’d be at a loss.
They’d also have to wait 18 months for the main payment, so we’re expecting the club to swiftly turn down the bid, however, you never know with Arsenal.
