Freddie Ljungberg has urged Arsenal to make a swift decision over the club’s next manager.
The Gunners were soundly beaten 3-0 by Manchester City on Sunday afternoon, on a day when they fell well short of their best level once again.
There is still uncertainty over who will be replacing Unai Emery permanently, with Ljungberg currently only in temporary charge.
Speaking after Arsenal’s loss to City, the Swede subtly hinted that the club needs to sort the issue as soon as possible, in order for them to move on to the next chapter:
For me it’s a great honour to do this. Per [Mertesacker] is academy manager and is having to do two jobs.
I’ve said I think it needs to be cleared up so everybody knows.

The longer the wait to name Arsenal’s new manager goes on, the more it potentially affects their top-four challenge.
Ljungberg has made it fairly clear that the delay is helping nobody, perhaps hinting that he may not be the right man to take the team forward.
In truth, he is not experienced enough to take on the job and Arsenal need to be hiring someone with more pedigree.
