Arsenal demanding €25m for Torreira
Arsenal have reportedly slapped a €25m price tag on Lucas Torreira’s head amid interest from Napoli.
According to Il Mattino, via Inside Futbol, Napoli are keen on a deal for Torreira and are currently exploring ways to bring him to the club in January.
The report claims that they are considering a loan swoop for the Uruguayan until the end of the season, with Arsenal demanding €25m for a permanent agreement.

Unless Torreira demands to leave and hands in a transfer request, Arsenal should not be allowing him to leave on loan in January. Torreira is Arsenal’s best defensive midfield at breaking up the play, in that he is adept at covering ground in front of the back four and making tackles/committing fouls to stop attacks before they lead to shots.
He is also comfortable taking the ball and driving forwards to create openings for his own team, which adds an extra layer to his game. His biggest issue is, perhaps, his inconsistency, although that could be levelled at many players in the Arsenal squad.
In any case, Arsenal should be looking to hold out for that €25m transfer fee so they could at least replace him should he leave to join Napoli or another club in the next window.
