Zinchenko set to return for Man City against Arsenal this weekend

Manchester City have been handed a boost ahead of their clash with Arsenal this weekend as Oleksandr Zinchenko is poised to return from injury.

According to Football London, Zinchenko is back in contention for Man City having been out since the start of October with a knee injury.

Pep Guardiola has been rotating between Benjamin Mendy and Angelino in Zinchenko’s absence, but neither have been able to nail down the position as their own.

With Manchester City losing to their fierce rivals Manchester United last weekend, they will already be hugely motivated to come back with a bang against the Gunners. The return of Zinchenko only further boosts their chances of picking up the three points, with the Ukrainian international having impressed at the start of the season and last term.

Arsenal do not play with an out-and-out right winger, so Zinchenko’s defensive capabilities may not be tested as much – but Ainsley Maitland-Niles will need to be switched on to deal with his attacking threat. Zinchenko likes to join in with the attacks and help build the play out wide, whilst also coming central at times to allow for more space in other areas of the pitch.
