Arsenal midfielder Mo Elneny has backed Freddie Ljungberg to secure the job on a permanent basis.
Elneny is currently out on loan to Besiktas, but has said that he believes Ljungberg could do a good job – having worked with him in the past at Arsenal.
Speaking to The Daily Mail, via HITC, Elneny said this:
I worked with Freddie before I left and he’s a really good coach. Why can’t he continue if Arsenal don’t find the new coach.
Yeah, 100 per cent.

Ljungberg has managed Arsenal for three matches now and the Gunners have gone 1-0 down in all three of them – to Norwich, Brighton and West Ham, salvaging four points from those games. There does not appear to be a clear favourite to take the job at the moment, which means that Ljungberg could yet have a few more games to impress and put forward his case for the role.
If he can pick up a couple more wins and show that performances are improving and that he has what it takes to lead the club forward, there is no reason as to why he should not be given a go by the board.
