Paul Robinson thinks that Tottenham are keeping a close eye on Leeds loanee Ben White.
The 22-year-old made the move to Elland Road on a season-long loan and has played a key role in the Whites’ excellent defensive record.
White’s impressive displays have attracted interest from Liverpool and Manchester United, but Robinson believes Spurs are now scouting the Brighton man.
Talking to Football Insider, former shot-stopped Robinson said:
Depending on Vertonghen and Alderweireld, I wouldn’t mind seeing him strengthen at centre-back, somebody like Ben White at Leeds, somebody of that quality would be a great addition.
I’ve no doubt for one minute the Spurs scouts are looking at him because he stereotypically the type of player that Spurs want to sign – a young, talented player.
Whether Mourinho wants that or whether he wants some ready-made, world-class star that we know, I think he needs to strengthen on the back four.

Robinson’s comments got us thinking, and we cannot understand why Arsenal haven’t registered their interest in the youngster yet.
He’s made the Championship look like Sunday league football at times this season and has barely put a foot wrong under Marcelo Bielsa.

The Gunners, on the other hand, have had plenty of problems at the back for some time.
Under both Arsene Wenger and Unai Emery, Arsenal’s defensive issues, especially at centre-back, have grown.
So securing White’s services in front of both Spurs, Liverpool and United could prove to be a great piece of business.
He could be available in Arsenal’s financial bracket as well, so we think the Gunners need to be keeping tabs on the Brighton man ahead of a future move.
