Arsenal’s horrendous form has taken another nose dive as they were beaten 2-1 by Brighton at the Emirates stadium to stay 10th in the league table.
Adam Webster and Neal Maupay scored for the away side, while Alexandre Lacazette equalised for the home side early on in the second half.
Brighton made a game of it from the start with attacking football that created problems for the Gunners. Aaron Connolly was whiskers away from giving them the lead, that was eventually given by Webster’s clever finish from a corner in the 36th minute.
Arsenal began the second half well and equalised through Lacazette’s brilliant near-post header from a Mesut Ozil corner.
However, they didn’t push on to bag the winner and allowed the Seagulls to grab hold of the game once again.
Eventually, the away side landed the killer blow in the 80th minute, after Aaron Mooy delivered an inch-perfect cross Maupay to glide his header past Bernd Leno.
Gabriel Martinelli almost won the point for Arsenal with a gliding header, but Matt Ryan made a good save.
All in all, another bad showing from the Gunners, who are now winless in the league in two months. Shocking!
