Arsenal fans not happy with Aubameyang’s ‘berserk’ outburst at Willock

Arsenal endured another frustrating evening at the Emirates on Thursday, losing 2-1 to Brighton.

The Gunners were outplayed for large periods in Freddie Ljungberg’s first home game as interim boss, with Neal Maupay’s late header giving the Seagulls the three points.

There was plenty to digest following the defeat, and one moment that stood out to some fans involved club-captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The striker was frustrated throughout, but his outburst at young midfielder Joe Willock shortly before the interval was remembered by plenty.

Willock attempted a through ball between the defence for the striker, who, at the last moment, checked his run and wanted it to feet.

The miscommunication resulted in Aubameyang reacting angrily to the 20-year-old, who was subsequently replaced at half-time for club-record signing Nicolas Pepe.

Arsenal fan @DarrenArsenal1 shared his frustration with the forward, which led to these fans also hitting out at the 30-year-old.

It was clear to see on Thursday that the Gunners are currently a side of lost individuals compared to Brighton’s team collective.

Mesut Ozil, like Aubameyang, also cut a frustrated figure, and it’s difficult to see where the club go from here.

Claims suggesting that Aubameyang isn’t fit to wear the armband are over the top, but if the club’s woeful form continues, a search for a new skipper could be on the cards with the Gabon international sealing an Emirates exit.
