Arsenal have been dealt a huge blow as Brendan Rodgers has signed a new long-term contract with Leicester.

Rodgers is now tied down at Leicester till the end of the 2024/25 season, reaffirming his commitment to the club currently second in the league.
Leicester are flying high at the top end of the Premier League, whilst Arsenal are nine games without a win and struggling in all competitions.

Whilst, given the positions of the two clubs, it was unlikely that Rodgers would make the move to Arsenal, this new contract is a blow for the Gunners. They will now need to assess their other targets and make sure that they are making the right choice.
Unai Emery has been gone for a week now and they do not seem to be any closer to appointing his successor. Freddie Ljungberg’s first two games resulted in a draw against Norwich and a loss to Brighton, which is far from inspiring and not the boost Arsenal needed from a change in manager.
It will now be very interesting to see which direction Arsenal go and who they decide to appoint.
