Arsenal told to pay £6.8m for reported target Adeyemi

Arsenal or Liverpool will have to pay RB Salzburg just £6.8m to sign reported target Karim Adeyemi, according to the Daily Express, cited by The Boot Room.

Both the Gunners and the Reds have been tipped to move for the 17-year-old in recent months following his impressive stint with Austrian second-tier side FC Liefering.

The attacker has already scored 11 goals in 17 games and has also provided eight assists, which has also had Barcelona officials monitoring the German.

Salzburg signed the youngster last year for just £3m but sell Adeyemi for double the price.

The likes of Kevin Kampl, Naby Keita, Sadio Mane, Hannes Wolf and Dayot Upamecano have all spent time with Salzburg, and it looks as if Adeyemi is the next big thing on their books.

The teenager is regarded as one of the hottest prospects in European football, and at just £6.8m, it would be silly if the Gunners didn’t firm up their reported interest.

They’ve had great success in recent years of picking up young talent, most recently with Gabriel Martinelli, however, with Liverpool and Barcelona also keen, it could be a tough ask to lure the attacker to the Emirates.

If they can add Adeyemi to their ranks, he could well follow in Martinelli’s footsteps and turn into an Arsenal star.
