# Pochettino favours the Man United job over Arsenal

Arsenal’s hopes of landing Mauricio Pochettino have taken a blow after it was claimed the former Tottenham boss is holding out for the Man United job.

[According to the Manchester Evening News, as cited on the Daily Star](https://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/mauricio-pochettino-wants-man-utd-21016610), Pochettino would prefer to take over at Old Trafford, despite being courted by the Gunners recently.

Given his history with Spurs, Pochettino has been one of the ambitious and controversial targets to be named on Arsenal’s managerial wishlist.

Pochettino to Man United is a move that many people expected to happen when he originally left Spurs.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is under an increasing amount of pressure at Old Trafford, with contrasting reports emerging about his future.

Prior to Solskjaer’s appointment at Old Trafford, Pochettino was being heavily linked with a move to Manchester after the successful job he had done at Spurs.

The Pochettino links to Arsenal have been tentative at best and given the level of interest there will be in his services, it is hard to see how the Gunners could appoint him in the near future, especially if they miss out on Champions League football.
